AFL’s Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We further believe in

The body of Christ, His church,

The existence of God’s call and purpose in the individual life of the believer,

The necessity for that call to be lived out in community, and

The truth that the Christ-centered life is shaped by servanthood, humility and obedience.

We recognize God as the source of our inspiration, the giver and developer of our talent, and the provider of opportunities for us to use our talents.

We are committed to using our talents in a way consistent with God’s character and His Holy Word.
